Nav Modern Thai Cuisine

Nav is a Thai restaurant found in the Kapitolyo – Except it’s a couple of miles from the usual strip of restaurants found in that area. It takes its name from its owners – Two brothers and a chef, who previously worked in People’s Palace (You guys might remember me doing a review for that resto early last year). What sets their Thai food apart from the others is that they gave it a distinct sweet flavor that was proven to be a hit with the Pinoy crowd.

Chicken Satay – Marinated and grilled chicken skewers with two sauces. SOOOOO GOOD. I heard that the satay in this restaurant is one of the best ones here in Manila, and I have to say that they’re right.

Grilled Beef Belly Wraps – Beef, vegetables, and herbs on cabbage. Didn’t really enjoy this one because it had too much veggies in it… Could use a little bit more beef, in my opinion.

The rice that we tried out was the Khao Kluk Kapi – Fried rice with shrimp paste, sweetened pork, green mango shreds, and topped with a sunny side-up egg.

Of course, no Thai meal is complete without Pad Thai – Rice noodles with shrimp, chicken, and eggs. The serving size was small, so it’s perfect for me. Hehe. Pretty good! The noodles had this nice springiness to it, too.

Naked Pandan Chicken – Juicy, marinated chicken in pandan essence. Didn’t like this one either – Had this weird, sweet aftertaste to it. Plus the dipping sauce is a bit too tangy/sour for my taste.

Nav’s food is just excellent, and the pricing isn’t that bad too! You can tell everything here was freshly made. In fact, I think I have yet to find a restaurant in Kapitolyo whose food I didn’t enjoy that much. Hehe.
